Welded Helical Solid Finned Tubes

Xinbaohaong can supply either solid or serrated welded finned tubes. These tubes are manufactured specifically to suit the high temperature environment found in furnaces, boilers and waste heat recovery equipment. Xinbaohaong high frequency serrated fin is a metal strip that has been serrated or cut and then helically wound around the specified tube. The fin is welded to the tubular base using the high frequency weld process. The fin can be applied to a wide variety of tubular material with configurations to suit your requirements. The brazed finned tube is the most suitable for higher-temperature applications.

Types of Welded Finned Tubes

1. Welded Longitudinal Finned Tubes

These tubes feature fins that run parallel to the tube's length, providing a continuous surface for heat transfer. As highlighted by Vulcan Finned Tubes, the fins are typically resistance welded in a U-shaped channel along the tube's length. This configuration is particularly suited for high-temperature and high-pressure applications, such as shell and tube heat exchangers.

2. High-Frequency Welded (HFW) Finned Tubes

HFW finned tubes are manufactured using a high-frequency welding process, which involves spirally winding the fin around the tube and welding it continuously. This method, as described by Jiangsu Tongchuang Alloy Material Co., Ltd., ensures a robust bond between the fin and the tube, making it ideal for applications with mechanical stress and high operating temperatures.

3. Helical Finned Tubes

These tubes feature fins that are helically wound around the tube. The continuous helical fin provides excellent heat transfer efficiency and is commonly used in applications like air coolers and economizers. According to Anand Seamless, this type of finned tube is particularly beneficial in environments with continuous vibrations.

Manufacturing Process

The manufacturing process of welded finned tubes varies depending on the type. However, the common goal is to achieve a strong bond between the fin and the tube to ensure efficient heat transfer.

  • Resistance Welding: Used for longitudinal finned tubes, this process involves forming the fin into a U-shaped channel and welding it along the tube's length. This method is ideal for high-pressure applications and ensures a durable bond.
  • High-Frequency Welding: This process, used for helical and HFW finned tubes, involves using high-frequency current to weld the fin onto the tube. The localized heating ensures a strong bond and allows for high-speed production.

    Applications of Welded Finned Tubes

Welded finned tubes are versatile and find applications across various industries due to their efficient heat transfer capabilities.

    • HVAC Systems: Used in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to improve heat exchange efficiency.
    • Power Plants: Utilized in heat recovery steam generators and boilers to enhance thermal performance.
    • Petrochemical Industry: Essential in heat exchangers for efficient energy use and process optimization.
    • Marine Applications: Used in shipboard cooling systems to withstand harsh marine environments.
    • Automobile Industry: Integral in radiators and air preheaters to manage engine temperatures effectively.
